  • 19 / 12 / 2019

Hello, Metal Gladiators!

The next Metal League starts next month and comes with a lot of good news for you!

Metal League is an in-game tournament based on the team’s score ranking, this time with the prize pool of 15 thousand Reais, and it will be held on South American servers.

Hurry up to find or build a team, the first round will be on January 11th of 2020 at 4 PM (GMT-0).

👉 All levels can join anytime during the qualifiers.

👉 No entry fees. It’s a free to play league – in a free to play game!

👉 Every Saturday – A REAL chance to go to the finals!

👉 It’s an online tournament, play from anywhere!

Well, and how does the Metal League work?

The Metal League follows the Metal Pass’ season and also a rotation rule. In this season, the matches will occur on the South America server. This system works side by side with the Teams feature that’s already in the game. Only registered teams will be able to take part, and in case you don’t have a squad yet, invite your friends to play or get in our Discord (discord.gg/heavymetalmachines) and create yours, our Community Managers are happy to help you.

The tournament will be disputed in two phases: Qualifiers and Playoffs. There’s an exclusive queue to join the Metal League, that will be available only on Saturdays from 4 PM to 7 PM (GMT-0). In other words, free up space on your schedule to play on Saturdays, okay?

Dates

  • Stage 1 – January 11th
  • Stage 2 – January 18th
  • Stage 3 – January 25th
  • Stage 4 – February 1st
  • Playoffs 1 – February 8th
  • Playoffs 2 (Final)  – February 15th

And how will the Qualifiers Phase work?

Here, we have brand new changes! Now there are just 4 qualifiers stages, and the queue duration has been reduced from 4 hours to 3 hours! They will be held each Saturday, from 4 PM to 7 PM (GMT-0), and the first stage will start on Saturday, 11th of January 2020.

The 16 teams with the highest score will qualify for the playoffs. The top 8 will enter the Gold League (with all cash prizes), and the other 8 teams will compete in the Silver League, with cash prizes for the winner and in-game prizes for the other contestants. It will work like this:

  • 1st to 8th place: Gold League
  • 9th to 16th place: Silver League

All the stages will have the same points. Each stage winner is guaranteed to get a spot in  the top 4 of the Gold League.

And what about the Playoffs?

We also have news here! This is the final stage of the Metal League, where the best qualifying teams will play for the total cash prize of R$ 15,000 and in-game items from 10th to 16th place, split into two leagues: Gold League and Silver League. In this Playoff stage, there will be no queues, and the teams will play directly in custom matches.

The Playoffs will be divided into 2 weekends. The first part will take place on February 8th, 2020 and the second part (Grand Final) on February 15th, with a special broadcast on Heavy Metal Machines (Youtube and Twitch) channels. Check out the schedule:

There will be two simultaneous leagues:

  • Gold League (1st to 8th Place)
    • Championship-wide format: Best of 3
    • Quarterfinals, semifinals and 3rd place match played on the first weekend (08/Feb).
    • Final played on the last weekend (15/Feb).

  • Silver League (9th to 16th Place)
    • Best of 1 format during Playoffs, except Final which is Best of 3.
    • Quarterfinals, semi and minor placing disputes will all be settled on the first weekend (08/Feb).
    • Final played on the last weekend (15/Feb) before the Gold League final.

And guess what? ESL Play will be with us again in these Finals!
